The Consistency Test


Achieving the perfect dosa relies heavily on the batter's consistency. It shouldn't be too thick, nor too runny.


The Ladle Test

When you scoop the batter with a ladle and pour it back, it should fall smoothly like thick pancake batter. If it drops in clumps, it's too thick. If it runs like water, it's too thin.


Adjusting the Batter

Our Chaithram Foods batter comes perfectly formulated, but if you prefer ultra-thin paper dosas, you can mix a tiny splash of water into a separate bowl of batter before spreading.


Never Add Water to the Main Container

Always take out the portion you need for the day and adjust that. Adding water to the main container can spoil the remaining batter and alter its fermentation.
